There was nothing but white. White floors, white walls, white ceilings, even the only door with no knob was white. Chase was in an empty room with only four walls. There was no furniture, no carpet, and no windows. The eerie white walls were getting closer and closer. The neko boy’s breath lungs felt empty no matter how many times he tried to suck in the desired oxygen. Wide eyed and frightened, he sat in the middle of the floor hugging his knees. He wrapped his pink tail around his legs and his pink ears laid flat against his skull. The walls continued to close in around him. He whimpered and put his forehead to his knees. The boy felt the end was near. There was nothing he could do. It was over. The sound of a door creaking open echoed in the small white room. Chase looked up hopping he could escape this horror, but before he could even consider escape, a slimy green corpse entered. Its eyes glowed red. Its jaw was ajar as if it was broken. Oozing sores covered every bare surface of its rancid skin. It cocked its horrid head to the side with a sickening grinding sound. It took a tumbling step forward and gurgled repulsively. The boy screamed.

Chase sat up straight in his bed. His breathing came out in short rasping gasps. Sweat shimmered on his exposed torso. His bright pink tail was lying limply in the tangled sheets. His cat ears were pressed tightly against his head. Looking around he realized that he was no longer in that dreadful room facing a hellish zombie. He put his head in his hands and continued to breathe in and out slowly. He gave his head a few shakes to rid the horrific image from his mind.

When he finally regained himself, he looked over to where his best friend, Koby, was sleeping in his own bed. A soft smile lighted his pale face. He was glad that his dear friend didn’t wake from this night’s episode. Nightmares were common for Chase and, unfortunately, Koby was the closest one during them. The neko boy always felt badly when he would wake his rabbit eared friend with his own moans of agony. Suddenly feeling the need for another person, Chase transformed into his Russian Blue cat form and leaped from his bed to the floor then up onto Koby’s. The red haired boy was sound asleep with his lean chest raising and falling rhythmically. The grey cat made his way onto the rabbit boy’s chest and curled up instinctively. Its eyes shut tightly as it felt its friend’s lungs expand with each breath. It was quiet calming to the poor skittish cat. Yawning, the cat began to slowly fall back to sleep in the company of its roommate.
