*(Finally getting around to making my intro post! Sorry for the delay, everybody!)*

~Of all the bloody, hellish assignments to put me on...~ Came the bitter thought of the young man. ~Couldn't they have at least waited until the bloody storm let up?!~

Tekno Lahjik silently swore to himself as he continued on the path, his hands gripping the rubber handles of his sleek and shiny new motorcycle--or rather, it would have been sleek and shiny had it not been marred and caked with mud from the path he was forced to take. It was a new concept bike--designed and developed by some of the smartest minds in his field, of which he was one of them. The "Tesseract", had it been so named in development, was unique in that it had the body and stabilization systems of a bike, but utilized the same four-wheel system as an all-terrain vehicle. A V-Twin engine powered by an electrical motor, so it was economically friendly...

The numbers had been run, the specs had been optimized, and tests had been run....though all in a controlled setting. This was the first time the Tesseract was actually getting a field test. Tekno had jumped at the chance to see how the new craft would function out on the open road, especially since he had more than his fair share in actually building and tweaking it. Unfortunately, the same day it was also due out for a field test almost meant it would see some inclement weather. In a way, his colleagues had stated, this was great! They would know how well it performed in conditions that were less than ideal...

But for Tekno, who was only wearing a standard crash helmet and a simple jumpsuit, was gritting his teeth lightly. He would have preferred to take it out after the rain had passed, as he while he wasn't opposed to take it out riding during a storm, he had to question why it was necessary to have the first field test done in a storm late at night. ...He mentally sighed, shrugging it off. After all, he figured if it wasn't going to be done now, it would have to have been done later.

He recalled Vesuvius protesting that he should fly above head, keeping an eye on things--but Tekno had to persuade his Pokemon 'brother' to reconsider. After all, flying in a thunderstorm wasn't exactly a very good idea--especially if it was thundering with enough force to rival Zekrom's rage. As Tekno roared through another puddle, sending a wave of water crashing up from both sides, he let up on the throttle to try and avoid spinning out.

~Right, this is getting dangerous.~ He mused to himself, moving to check the device on his wrist--another product of his own design. Quickly pulling up a map, he noticed there was a town up ahead. He figured it was a good a place to stop and rest up as any--especially if the storm wasn't going to let up anytime s--

His train of thought was derailed as he heard a horrible sound of screeching metal, shortly followed by several pillars of fire erupting from not too far off, temporarily piercing the heavens.

"What the bloody hell...!?" He spoke, purely by reflex, though it was somewhat muffled by the helmet. Stopping the bike entirely, Tekno gazed off as to what was going on, wondering if he should investigate. He hesitated, only for a moment, before bringing the wrist-worn device up to his mouth. Opening a comm channel to Central, he decided to give a short report. "This is Tekno. I've discovered something unusual out by the forest during testing--nothing to do with the bike. Blasts of flame spotted, following a Metal Sound. I'm going to check it out."

There was a pause.

"Probably a Pokemon battle, Lahjik. Disregard."

"Negative," Tekno stated. "These flame spurts pierced the storm cover here. I was able to see it clear as day. Wild Pokemon usually aren't that powerful, and I know Fire Pokemon aren't native to this area. I think somebody might be in danger."

Another pause.

"Very well. Call if you need backup."

"Will do. Lahjik out." Tekno stated, before turning his attention back to the woods. "Well, let's see how this baby handles off road."

With that, he turned the Tesseract around ninety degrees, heading into the woods to investigate...
