Golikova's words were somewhat harsh to Stone, but overall, she appreciated them. They gave her confidence, the way that a mother scolding her child to do better in school did. Stone wondered what Golikova's home life was like, what she did for fun, what her favorite drink was. She wondered what kind of person she was when her life wasn't at stake, when she didn't have to be tough. Stone smiled at her, Stone's blue eyes filled with something along the lines of hope.

Stone grabbed her knife and took it out of its sheath as the Russian opened the door leading to Bradbury Hall. Stone had a feeling that they would run into something that might put up a bit of a fight. The smell of death instantly filled Stone's nose, and she scowled in recoil. The smell had been somewhat prominent in the arctic castle, but it was nothing compared to coming face to face with it. Stone heard the shuffling of feet, and she had a feeling she was going to see a repeat of what happened earlier with the handless humanoids.

Except, this time, Stone was going to do something. This time, Stone wasn't going to stand in the back idly and watch as her teammates fight for their lives. No, Stone was going to be brave, and she was going to conquer her fears; she was going to fight. Stone took in a long, sharp breath, and exhaled slowly. She wasn't sure if she was any good at combat, and she wasn't sure if she was going to make it out of this battle alive. But she was going to try. "Ici nous allons," Stone muttered to herself.

Stone peered around Golikova, seeing exactly what she had imagined, only worse. The amount of blood and the sight of bodies took her by surprise. Just moments after Stone looked, she heard a gunshot. The shot caught her off guard, and she let out a quick, high pitched scream. Stone instantly covered her mouth, feeling like an idiot. Crap, She thought to herself. She knew that the handless things in the room would here her, and she had a feeling that they weren't going to like them being there.
