Kayl glanced behind him, panicking as he heard a gunshot, which struck Ambrosi in the chest. Gasping, the short brunette boy turned to help his friend, who had fallen to the ground, life quickly fading from his eyes.

"Snipers." the word crossed his lips like a bat from hell, appearing and disappearing within a second.

Realizing there was nothing he could do to help his ally, Kayl clambered to his feet and took off running, making it the last couple feet to the road. His clothing and hands were extremely bloody now as he continued to try and apply pressure to his shoulder as he ran.

"Run!" the warning escaped Kayl as a gasp for air as he ran out of breath once more.

Wheezing, he jerked his head to the right, away from where they had come from and Ambrosi's body, in a signal to head that way.

"Y'all okay?" Kayl wheezed, looking toward Rowan and Aspen.
