The Bird didn’t back up it reared its head back. The tip of its beak gleaming in the light is it extended its wings to appear larger then it was. It stayed like this until Chris either backed off or continued forward. If he backed off the Jarei would once more relax, if not the bird would then proceed to examine him and if it felt he was a danger… or if it simply disliked how he smelt it would commence the pecking. Though if it felt comfortable it would relax and go back to pecking away at the tough of seeds.
