Ayame stood beside Daisuke's bedside, holding his hand in his own. "Don't worry, Nii-san, I'll be back to see you sooner than you can say "burger"! I promise." Daisuke smiled sadly at him, tilting his head a little to the side. He coughed horribly, panting from the effort when he was finished. "Daisuke, are you sure you'll be okay?" Ayame asked, concerned.
"I'll be fine, little brother. I want you to go have fun for me."
Ayame was taken aback at how calm he sounded. "How can you be so calm about this? The doctor said-"
"I know what he said. Don't worry, according to him I have at least a few months before I'm gone. I probably won't be able to leave here, or be able to go out and do anything...." Daisuke closed his eyes for a moment. Then, he opened them and gave Ayame the most serious look he ever had in his life, his sapphire blue eyes shimmering with determination. "I've decided, Ayame. I want you to live for the both of us. I want you to go live at this house, become a great chef, and do all the things I can't do. Realise our dream, Ayame. Do all of the things I can't, and be happy. Find happiness for me, for when I'm gone." Daisuke smiled and closed his eyes after his little speech, in danger of falling asleep. Daisuke opened his eyes again, gauging Ayame's reaction. He frowned. "Ayame....why are you crying? Did I say something to offend you?"
"I'm not crying! I just...."
How can he say all of that so calmly? How....how can he smile when he knows hes going to die? Ayame's vision got blurry for a moment until he took off his glasses and wiped his tears away. Then, he straightened up and smiled brightly at Daisuke. "Don't worry, Nii-san! I'll live like there were four of us, you'll see! I'll bring back something tasty for you when I see you next, okay?" Ayame let go of Daisuke's hand, leaning over to place his forehead on Daisuke's, thier glasses almost touching. "Love you, Nii-san." Ayame whispered, "I have to go now, but I'll call you every night. I want you to call me if anything happens. I mean it, big brother, you may have been born a minute or two before me but that doesn't mean you have to deal with this by yourself." Ayame pulled away and walked to the door. He waved goodbye, smiling brilliantly for his big brother. Without further ado, he left.
Ayame's
manager was waiting for him outside the hospital, a clipboard in his hands as always. "Did you get everything settled, Mr. Moriyama?" Tanaka asked as Ayame walked through the doors of the hospital. Ayame smiled at him, bowing. "Oh, hello! Yes, I did, Tanaka-san. Thank you for letting me see my brother before we leave." Tanaka merely nodded at Ayame. "It's no problem. However, we are late so we better get going. I went through a lot of trouble to get you in, so I would advise not being any later than we are now."
"Well, it's good I packed the car beforehand, huh?" Ayame laughed as Tanaka looked surprised. "You mean you didn't have someone drive you here?" Tanaka asked, pushing his glasses toward his eyes. Ayame looked confused for a moment. "No, I didn't. I didn't think I needed it....you see, since you gave me the address I was just going to drive up there myself." Ayame told him innocently.
Tanaka sighed. "Your transportation is also a form of protection, Mr. Moriyama. Since you're somewhat of an idol now, you need to protect yourself. But....I suppose it's okay, just this once. Just use the transportation I provide you with from now on, alright? Well, I'll be seeing you later. I'll be in touch."
Ayame smiled widely, a little surprised at his kindness. "Thanks, Tanaka! You're awesome!" Ayame ran off to the parking lot, waving goodbye as he went. "I'll call you later, okay?" Ayame yelled to him, stopping when he reached his car. It was nothing special, just a tan Chevy Cavalier. He got his keys and got into the car, finally ready for the long drive.
Ayame pulled into the driveway, pulling out a slip of paper from his pocket when he was parked. He arrived just as night was falling, at around 6 o'clock.
Is this the place? It's so.....awesome! He looked back the paper, which had the address of the house written on it.
The address is the same, so... Ayame shivered as a chilly breeze gave him goosebumps. He was wearing casual clothing: a plain black t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. His jacket was in his bags, he couldn't get it at that time.
Well, this is it! Daisuke...I wish you were here with me.... Shaking off troublesome thoughts, Ayame popped the trunk and got his bags out. He only had two large-ish bags, of which he carried one in each hand. After making sure his car was locked, he carried his belongings to the front door. He set one of the bags down and opened the door. "Hi, everyone!" He called out, more to be friendly than to announce his presence. He brought his two simple black bags inside and set them near one of the couches. For a moment, he looked at his surroundings. "Wow...." He murmured, "This place is amazing!"
