A burst of of holy energy stopped Chris' blade in his tracks and forced him away from Zaleth, with a few words and a flourish of his blade Zaleth unleashed a barrage of quick blows. Chris was able to block a few, but some got through and even though they were rapid blows they still held power behind the leaving deep cuts into his armor. Before he could react Zaleth disappeared and reappeared behind him making a thrust for his spine, he realized just in time and forced his body to the left to at least avoid a fatal spinal blow. That was necessary though before the blade even touch him Zaleth was repelled away into a wall, lightning crackling from his body. What or who protected him he did not know and right now he had no time to think about it. Zaleth's blade was raised high as it began to glow with a white light, it was an attack Chris had seen once before. “NIGHT BANE!”

Chris had not time to think of anything the only thing he could see was Marenda withering and falling towards the ground. Zaleth appeared next to her and bent over to check on her, she did not respond and he hugged her close, his voice still not audible to Chris as his face slowly twitched into an expression of pure unadulterated rage. He thought she was dead, even though he had the utmost faith in her character he knew she wasn't perfect no one was and to be hit with something like that just after recover from the poison of a Kurag must have been devastating. "ZALETH!" Chris' voice was dripping with absolute anger any normal man would freeze with an absolute fear of having their name called in such a way. As soon as Zaleth released Victiara Chris rushed forward with the greatest speed he could muster swinging his blade at Zaleth, each stroke was a calculated one and meant not to harm, but to kill their target. Each blade stroke held the full weight of his fury as he brought it down onto Zaleth.
