The merman pulled Skyla up out of another pond. She gasped for air, letting the her lungs fill to their satisfaction. She gently swam to the edge with one arm, not wanting to increase the already blood filled pond.

Once at the edge she pulled herself out and laid herself down on the grass. She moved her eyes to the merman's head that was floating out of the water. His wet white blond hair stuck to his face, his eyes passive, but Skyla could tell that he was mad about her being in his "pond". She cracked a small smirk.

"I bet you'd rather be fighting other mermen right now huh? Well I'm sorry, but it was my only way out," she said standing up, "I promise it won't happen again". She began to walk away, but stopped mid-step and turned back around as if she had forgotten something.

"I'm Skyla, by the way, Skyla Derak," She, her jaw set and eyes still and cold. She never really liked introducing herself, but for some reason felt like she had to.
