Once they were finished with the first exercise, Tasha started them on others. Shooting stationary booys and then making the mechanized triangle targets start moving and even simulating fire on the pilots and the shields would act as if it was real and when a "hit" hit a vulnerable spot the ship would call them "dead" or "incapacitated" without doing any actual damage. They were very effective. Once that was done Tasha had the pilots change to robot form and spar with each other. Tasha sparred with Alexis and the trick was to use your mind powers to get advantage but since most or all of them had telepathy it was particularly challenging to get in a hit on the other. But both were sweating with exertion by the end of the exercise. "All right. Good job pilots. A few more days of this and I think we will be ready for the Mars mission. Now I don't trust the Alien so you don't need to tell him what we are doing or why. You are free to return to the planet."

Alexis frowned but accepted her orders. "Yes ma'am". She followed Tasha as they reentered the atmosphere. With the special shields she hardly felt the heat at all and since they were all back in ship form again it was an easy thing to hover into place before powering down when they landed.
