Indeed both Jewel and po and many of the other creatures could communicate with the alien creature. It was surprisingly intelligent though not on the level of the creatures of Kolob, who called themselves the Kozels(sorry just now realized I didn't have a name for them). It was quit interesting to discuss things with the alien creature. Jewel was distracted though, by Alexis' quiet manner. It was so out of character that she couldn't help noticing it.
"Are you scared?" It asked in her mind as it nuzzled it's soft pink fur against Alexis' cheek.
Alexis nuzzled back and glanced at Jewel shaking her head slightly. "I am not really sure, I just have a feeling of foreboding."
"Foreboding? Alexis, your "feelings" are usually correct. Can you describe it any better. I need to know if we are flying into a trap." Tasha said out loud after catching Alexis' last mind speech.

"It's hard to pinpoint, I usually can get a clearer picture but the feelings are so confused. I keep getting thoughts from somewhere about protecting someone but at the same time it is mixed with the idea that everyone else must be destroyed. I don't know who it is from and who they are protecting."

"You don't think it's the protectorate? We have no idea who they are or why they are attacking people all over the sol galaxy. Let's just hope that it isn't Mars that is behind it or this will be a short trip. But the refugees hadn't been hearing from Mars and they seemed to think that the attack that destroyed their asteroid seemed to come from that direction. We will find out when we get there."
