Aimée did not prefer vampires. In fact, she never liked them, if she had to admit. It was probably because the majority of the Night World Council was of vampires and they usually had a certain air, one which would put them higher than everyone else, especially the werewolves. She might have been under the rule of the First House of Shapeshifters but her mild despise for the blood-sucking creatures never strayed. If it was anything else, the hate grew after her parents' departure.
As the vampire bent down to aid her, she pulled aside, at least half a feet away from the other night person. In another swift movement, she got onto her feet and took a step back as though the distance between her and the vampire was not enough.
"Yes. I am. It's just a fall. Nothing else." Aimée allowed her eyes to penetrate into his, not hiding her acknowledgement of his species. If he was bright enough, he would have figured out that she already knew that he was a vampire. The werewolves had one ability stronger than any other night person; scent. Anyone could disguise their true scent from a vampire or shifter but the werewolves were the one who usually had the strongest link to their animal instincts and their sense of smell became their eyes and ear as well.
