"There! I'll wear that style today!" said LaNelope as she paused a European summer fashion show and ran over to her closet.
Slightly excited, she opened the large doors, revealing the 300sq ft. space she had set aside for her clothing, nearly half of the space being filled - with all kinds of fashion styles....
Clothing on Earth was something LaNelope viewed as Art....she loved it ever since she first viewed it on her home planet decades ago.....so she spent nearly her whole first paycheck on clothing from a high-end thrift shop - as an attempt to grab as many different styles of clothing as possible, to fit in to the best of her capabilities.

After a few minutes LaNelope found the dress that was the closest to the one on the fashion show.....so she slipped out of her robe, and into the beige corset-topped dress - which probably would of hit to the knees on most, but hit mid-thigh on her.
It was a bit too tight on her bust and stomach, seeing as how she still wasn't too understanding of dress sizes yet, but she was able to get zipped, which made her smile - as she slipped into her beige sandals.
"This is as identical as i can get" she said to herself, as she walked out of her closet and stared into a full length Victorian-styled mirror.
She then then sat down in front of a smaller mirror and pulled her pony tail out........she wasn't sure what to do with her hair, so she simply copied the woman who remained paused on her tv screen - which was a high up pony tail with a silver clip.
LaNelope didn't have a silver clip, but she happily used her butterfly clip instead........something she almost always wore out.
"Done!" she beamed as she stood up - her pony tail reaching slight above the end of her back.
LaNelope then went over to Yhano and kissed him on the top of his head. "I'll be back soon!" she said, before blowing out the candles and leaving her loft.

The process of getting to the first floor insisted of going inside an old metal cage and pressing a button, which dropped down to the first floor..............and then you'd have to stay on a specific pathway,[or risk stepping on old nails & other harmful debris] until you rounded a few corners and made it out the front door.......which LaNelope did - making sure not to dirty her dress.

As she walked to work she stared into the windows of every shop she passed, but for the last couple of days they've all been near-empty, or completely empty. 'They really are terrified, aren't they' thought LaNelope, as she walked down the almost deserted street - passing only one young couple so far.
"Younger humans appear to be the only ones interested or unafraid by our arrival.......perhaps it's them we should try to get to know and communicate with....perhaps things are the opposite here." LaNelope said to herself, before stopping outside the window of a bar - spotting a young man, and an older woman, inside.........it was the first place she passed that had more than one person inside, which caused her to smile - as she placed her hand on the window..........she wanted to go inside, but knowing she wouldn't make it to the cafe in time, she simply stared at the two for a few moments before continuing on her way.

Rounding the corner towards the Cafe, LaNelope began to run into a bit more people. 'They are still....young' she thought, as she came to a stop outside of her place of work.
LaNelope took a moment to scan the small crowd, trying to see if she could spot any of her people......but to no avail. So she rubbed her feet on the door mat, and then walked inside the cafe.
"Oh hello there LaNelope! You did not have to come in with such little service" said Rhonda, the owner of the little cafe. "But if it is not my day off, or a holiday, then i have to come in and work, right?" responded LaNelope, as she walked behind the counter, and tied a black waist-apron w/ the company logo in the middle, around her hips.
Rhonda simply laughed "If you say so dear!" she said, before walking back into her office to begin a small stack of desk work.
Already bored from the lack of customers, LaNelope double checked the arrangement of Cakes, Bagels, Muffins, & Cookies, and made sure all the hot and cold drink machines were on......before she walked to the public side of the counter, turned the TV on, and sat on a bar stool to watch it - the depressing news coverage of her peoples arrival being all they covered.
