Later that day, Jerome had visited the libary and found a book that described ancient runes and symbols.
He took a seat at one of the corners and read through the pages. His eyes widened when he noticed the same symbol that had been engraved on his desk over-night.
The symbol was one of many Elder Futhark runes which had been commonly used in northern Europe. The name of the rune was Sowilo, and meant success, goals, and honor. The life-force, health. A time when power will be available to you for positive changes in your life, victory, health, and success. Contact between the higher self and the unconscious. Wholeness, power, elemental force, sword of flame, cleansing fire.
The rune may be written in opposition, which would then have a series of negative meanings such as false goals, bad counsel, false success, gullibility, loss of goals. Destruction, retribution, justice, casting down of vanity. Wrath of god.
Whoever had came into his room the previous night while he was asleep had written the rune in it's positive form. Perhaps someone had wished him to succeed in his new school? Jerome could only wonder.
