Funny, they seemed to be mirroring each other. At least until Matt’s expression went from a cool attire to something a bit happier and friendlier. “Ah, I thought you seemed familiar. Please, call me Matt.” Having moved away from South Korea when he was only four, his voice didn’t carry any hint of an accent. That surprised some people, while others didn’t bother taking note.

He wanted to say more, but nothing else came to mind. It was just like having to meet someone for the first time; you’d ask a question or make a statement, then an awkward pause would commence until another question or statement was made. Except, it was a bit more awkward when that person you were meeting was also the person you had to marry. Matt thought for a moment, quickly going through all the things you could, or had to, discuss when meeting someone new. He didn’t care much for religion or politics, so those were out of the question. Maybe he could just wait for Fien to say something else? No. She had already taken the liberty of going up to him to start the conversation, he had to put in some effort as well.

“How are you doing?” Well, that wasn’t the best conversation starter in the world, but it was something, right?
