Layla listened closely as everyone admitted their addiction. None like hers. She gulped deeply, feeling hollow in the pit of her stomach. Of course not. No one was a freak like her. They all had problems that they could share and understand each other. But she wouldn't have anyone to discuss her problem with. Because she doubted they would understand just how it all starts, how it becomes so addicting, how it roots deep in your mind and body and controls you. How you act on impulse. They might understand some of that. But not all.
Doctor Bryan nodded as each person announced their addiction, before folding his hands together in his lap and leaning back in his chair. He looked around the circle of people surrounding him, before clearing his throat quietly.
"Thank you for all being so willing to admit your addiction. Well, almost all," Dr. Bryan said with a quick glance at Demiana. "I guess now I should tell you your room pairings. Demiana and Donovan, you're in room 210. Capri and Chuck, in room 211. Layla, Jaxson, and Diedre, room 212/213. Don't worry, the room with the three. Your room has a door to theirs, Diedre, so you can open it and go anywhere you like. Any room is open to you." He said with a smile. "Now, off you go. Welcome to Spencer Recovery." He said before standing up and turning, closing the door behind him.
Layla looked around quickly before standing up, brushing of her skirt and walking towards the door that Dr. Bryan left out of. She left it open, waiting for other people to leave the room. She looked around before she found her two black and white stripped suitcases, with her silver bag. She placed the suitcases in both hands, before throwing the bag over her right shoulder. She rolled the bags, looking up at the room numbers that she passed, to make sure that she would arrive at the right one. Once she did, she gently reached in the elastic of her skirt for the key she was given when she first arrived. She slid it easily into the door, before twisting the doorknob and pushing it open.
Layla's eyes widened as she took in the beautiful
room. The setup, the way the window had a perfect view of the ocean, was perfect. Was better than any hotel she had stayed at. She walked to the bed by the window, setting her suitcases down in the corner beside it.
