Evie blushed as Derek complimented her. "Thank you". As to his question, she thought for a moment, noticing the sun starting to rise. "I didn't sleep very well last night, I had nightmares." Giving him a long, meaningful look of not wanting to talk about it, she moved on to the next dilemma. Glancing over at his bike, Evie pondered for a little while. "Let's take your bike," she said, perfect excuse to not talk. As she let go of Derek's hand, she put one gentle hand behind his neck and pulled him into a passionate kiss. "I love you." In a way, trying to convince herself that that would protect him from her.

Pulling away she went to the side of her garage and grabbed the spare helmet she kept for when she rode with Derek. For any other person, her parents would never let her ride, but they liked and trusted Derek. So it all worked out.

Putting the helmet on, she gracefully slid herself onto the bike and waited for Derek to join her. As he got on, she slid her strong arms around his waist, and interlocked her slender fingers. Resting her head on his back, she sighed in a sign of serenity. She didn't know there could be such happiness, she just hoped her uncommon body head didn't make him too hot. The random thought made her giggle.
