Jake sat slightly below Faye on the cliff. He had seen nice rock outcrop so he had flown down to it and now here he sat! Jake was worried about Faye. He cared for her very, very much and this gem was messing with her. He didn't see why it HAD to be Faye who defeated the Ancients. There were plenty of other strong willed people, hell plenty of strong willed girls if they HAD to be girls, that could take this mission. When she began to leave and called his name Jake flew up to stand next to her and walked in step with her.
