Lex Silver
"Ha-ha, he's here to save his damsel in distress!"
They all laughed as one of the boys; apparently the strongest of them stepped forward. "Don't worry, Master Silver," he said with a smirk, "we've got plenty of time to kick your ass, too." And with that he tossed out a Pokéball.
"Now let's see what Pokémon Daddy bought you."
Silver simply smiled in response to the name calling; actions spoke louder than words and his would break bones, along with pride. It surprised him a little, the way he was looking forward to the battling, he had even threatened them: Or else... what did I mean by that?" Never had Silver been so confrontational, nor was he one to cower, but looking for trouble was definitely out of character. It seemed this journey was already beginning to change him.
Keith the
As Silver held out his pokeball, the machop known as Macho was released. With that, Keith wasted no time in starting the battle. "Electrike hit him with a Tackle, now!" The lightning Pokémon rushed toward Macho, its head down and eyes sharp, ready to hit Machop as hard as it could. But, Silver would take advantage of this Pokémon’s readiness, "Macho, use Leer!" The Pokémon attempted to lock eyes with the Electrike and once it did the Pokémon would likely be stopped dead in its tracks.
The Electrike slowed, quivering with uncertainty, but managed to get off the Tackle -- Macho held out his hands in hopes of slowing the Pokémon down. However, out of slight fear of the Machop, it turned around completely retreating, trying to get out of range as quickly as possible, but leaving it wide open to attack. "Hey you wimp! Watch your damn back!" the trainer called, but it was too late; Macho essentially had a free shot.
"This is your chance Macho, Low Kick!" Macho shook off the damage and charged forward, preparing to deliver a fierce kick.
Though Electrike's low weight and proximity to the ground made Low Kick less effective, but the Pokémon's lowered defenses made the attack not only hit harder, but gave Machop the opportunity to land a critical hit! The Electrike stumbled and flipped, tumbling back to its trainer's feet defeated.
Keith picked up the Electrike and gave Alex a dirty look. "Ya got lucky. Next time I'll kick your rich, spoiled ass! Lets go." The gang sauntered away, sneering at Josh, who was still huddled rather pathetically against the wall.
Macho gained EXP!
Macho grew to level 10!
Macho learned Karate Chop!
Alex won 200 Pokédollars!
When they'd all gone, Josh ran to Alex in tears, wrapping his arms around him and crying, "Thank you! Thank you so much!" Suddenly realizing what he was doing, he awkwardly stepped back, trying to regain his composure. "Um... thanks... S-sorry, it's just no one ever sticks up for me like that. H-how can I repay you?" he asked between sniffles. "If you were going in, I could at least get you in for free; I'm the top coordinator there, so they gave me this pass, but I don't need it anymore since I'm heading out tomorrow... those guys took most of my money though. I promise, someday I'll repay you for this." He shook Alex's hand. "Thanks again!" and with that the boy left toward the Pokémon Center.
"Well... After that, I think we should call it a day?" Silver looked around at the nodding heads. "Alright, c'mon." The group then headed for the Pokémon center, where they would be staying for the night.
