He stared curiously at Sapphire's shadow, wondering slightly about the strange hissing sound, and what it meant. Though he still heard her words, and understood her initial concern, he was surprised to find that she suddenly changed her mind. In difference to Sapphire, Ivan had spent a lot of time trying to gather information on the different societies that had been created since he discovered his extra form, and even though he knew very little, he knew enough.

Staying safe and mastering my abilities, Ivan thought to himself, sounds fair. Though he still didn't trust the problem she had referred to earlier to be as simple as a communication problem. When she asked for his name, he hesitated again. To join up with The Underground Railroad, though safe, still meant he had to get far more involved in all of this than he felt comfortable with. And if he regretted his choice - what was he then left with?
