Jessica sighed and walked towards the stair case, she had decided to sleep on the second floor because that's where her locker was. There were a few lights in the hallway and even though it was dim, she found her way around. She walked up to her locker, put in the combination, and opened the door. A stale sandwich, gym clothes, a raggedy sweatshirt, school books, and a couple pictures of friends and family were the only things that she could find in her locker. She held up a picture of her mom and dad holding her baby sister after she was first born. A tear slid down her cheek and dropped onto the picture. Be strong, Jessica! A few more tears stained the picture until she threw the small memory back in her locker. She wiped her cheeks and pulled a flash light out of her back pack. She grinned happily when she found it. She then found a bag with make up and tampons, a lighter, and twenty seven dollars. "This'll do." She grabbed the rotten sandwich and closed her locker. Jessica back down to the cafeteria and placed the sandwich in the trash. She looked over and saw Jake asking if anyone could cook. She walked over and looked at the hot dogs, "I can cook... but do the generators power the stove?"
