Snippet #1723303

located in Cursed Wood, a part of The Multiverse, one of the many universes on RPG.

Cursed Wood

Dark and foreboding, the trees seem older than time itself. Larger than life, and equally as imposing, they stand distanced as if politely ignoring each other. Fog swirls around the bases of these trees, obscuring the earthy ground. Flowers dare not grow in this forest, for the canopy of leaves blots out the sun, and the temperature is stagnantly cool. There is something amiss about this forest.

Charles caught himself in the air, the miasma he controlled had blanketed the sky above and allowed him to, even if just for a second, turn his body from flesh to smoke. He found himself wrapped in a world of darkness, black strings of smoke shot up from the ground to towering heights; the trees of the wood. His shapeless body began to form, to others it appeared as though a black fog built up a giant ant hill, and then from within erupted a man, his shoulder bloodied and his mouth twisted into an angered scowl.

Cursing the werewolf woman he raised his right hand to his mouth, sucked the still dripping blood from his fingers and spat it out. It neither tasted ill, nor did he find it revolting to drink the blood of creatures he had no good relations with, he simply didn't need to digest it to gain strength from it. His fingers still covered in a light layer of blood smoothed over the wounds in his shoulder and began the process of healing them. For now the beast seemed almost tranquil, even tame. He took a step back knowing that however much he dislike it, he was at a disadvantage here. Had it been a night of no moon his victory would have been swift and the bloodshed hers alone, but it was not and his blood had been spilled more than hers.

Still though, it wasn't like him to flee. His pride would have him die at the hands of an meager criminal than flee and let them see his back. Today though his pride would not have him die, instead it would shade itself and take a blow. He wasn't stupid enough to rush into his own death, no matter how ashamed he would be of the conflict upon his return to the clan, but the collar that had lightly chipped one of his teeth drew wonders from his mind. This wolf wasn't merely roaming the woods, it belonged somewhere and it may well have escaped. Any animal driven into a corner was more than an ample threat, even moreso upon a full moon and the animal was a wolf.

Spitting dury at the werewolf Charles leaned backwards, his body shifting again and dispersing into smoke as he drew out of sight of the werewolf as quickly as he could and began his retreat to the castle grounds.
