Joh Dion

As far as themes went, fancy wasn't the worst. No, Joh had gone through much worse. Besides, he could enjoy seeing everyone in their formal attire, looking somewhat strange as they grappled with their suit or dress. It wasn't like Joh liked looking at the others for their looks. No, he much preferred watching the others' reactions. Watching the others was so interesting, for some reason. Not like a stalker, because that was just weird, but as a person interested in emotions and how the human mind worked. After all, it was all so different! You never knew what would happen, and that's what made it so amazing. To see all the different views... All the different people... Yes, that's why he liked other people so much. That's why Joh was absolutely perfect as a host.

Tonight he was wearing a simple suit. Just formal enough to pass the test, but not to the point where he lost his most charming characteristic: his poor background and childish actions and looks. In fact, Joh had purposefully put his suit on poorly, letting it wrinkle. His hair made it look like he just rolled out of bed, though he actually had gotten up quite early that morning. His face was always a little pink, like he was blushing a little, though he didn't use makeup for it (it just naturally looked that way). His bright blue eyes shone beautifully, ready to pull out all of the stops that day. It was going to be amazing; after all, the group was the best out there. Joh wasn't exactly known for his huge ego, but even he had a great amount of pride when it came to the host club.

There wasn't anything bad about it. The others were friendly people, even outside of the club, and while Joh didn't really connect with any of them (he didn't really connect with anyone, though) he still liked hanging out with them every day. They weren't annoying, or otherwise bothersome, either. Well, for the most part. There was just one thing that Joh was always wondering about, one thing that refused to leave his mind. And that thing was named Lenny Valor.

It wasn't like Joh hated the leader, or was annoyed by him, or anything like that. No, it was the exact opposite. Joh was incredibly interested in their confident, almost cocky, leader. Something about Lenny... He was constantly acting, and Joh knew it. That was it, actually. Joh just didn't know how to read Lenny at all, and that bothered him. He always wanted to know what Lenny was thinking, what he was going to do. But every time something else happened, or Joh found himself being wrong in a prediction. It made it hard to work with him, at times, since Joh couldn't rely on his normal skills, but he coped. But he wanted to do more then cope, he wanted to understand how Lenny ticked. And, well, that's how Joh's plan started.

But said plan would have to wait for later, because Joh was doing his best to attract customers. Walking around, Joh saw himself get waved over by a group of girls, all a year above him. He smiled shyly at them, deciding to go with his typical appearance. Shy, nervous, and bashful. The kind of guy that you wanted to bring home because he would listen to whatever you said, and compliment all the right parts of you, and know that you're supposed to put the toilet seat down. Yes, that kind of guy. Greeting all of the girls, Joh sat between two of them. The third placed herself on the formal chair across the couch that Joh sat on.

"Oh, you look so cute today!" One of them said. She had long black hair and big brown eyes that would have taken anyone's breath away. Joh wasn't one hundred percent sure what her name was, but was quite confident it was either Sarah or Sophia. Either or. The other one nodded, taking a piece of Joh's hair in her fingers and twirling it carefully. "Oh yes... Joh I must say, you boys have gone above and beyond the call of duty here," she commented as she looked around. It was one of Joh's regulars, a charming year four girl named Katara. The third Joh didn't recognize. "This is Mei, our friend. She's nervous about being here," Katara muttered. Joh gave Mei a smile, reaching out a hand for her to shake. As he purposefully picked a suit too big for him, the sleeve almost covered his hand.

"I'm Joh, nice to meet you." He looked up at her eyes as they shook hands. She had big blue eyes. "Your eyes... They make the sky pale in comparison." He swiftly took her hand and kissed it lightly, letting his grasp linger for a moment before pulling away again. He looked at the two girls next to him, then let a small blush appear on his face, lowering his eyes to make it seem like he was more bashful then he really was. He took a quick glance around the room. He could only see Suta and Lenny, both of whom were talking. Probably about a customer. Joh readjusted his grip on his bear, and Mei looked at him curiously.

"Excuse me... But why do you carry that around?" She asked, pointing a perfectly manicured hand at it. It wasn't hard for Joh to look embarrassed, but mostly because he had to explain it to every new customer that came in. It had been bad enough telling the other hosts, but at least they actually understood. Joh knew that most of the new customers weren't used for a high school boy to carry around his stuffed bear from when he was a child; luckily many of them just thought it was cute, rather than weird. That was one thing that Joh always dreaded. Sarah (Or Sophia. Whatever her name was) gasped. "You can't just ask people that," she told Mei, even though she had done the same thing her first day. The hypocrisy of some people amuses me, Joh thought.
