Emmalee had just begun to pass out whenever she felt the person grab onto her. She gave one last kick to the surface as she vaguely heard his voice, and soon she could feel air. She blinked several times to try to clear up her blurred world. Is this what it feels like to be drunk? she thought to herself. And then she noticed her savior. She felt large hands wrapped around her body and looked up to see a handsome face, dripping with the deadly water that had almost taken her. Then, with a thought of who this dreamy mystery man was, and if something could hopefully come out of his saving her, her world went black.

She slowly started to come to her senses a view minutes later, but only barely. She still felt like she was drowning, and knew there must be water in her lungs. She could only think simple things, like the pain she was feeling and the warmth of the sun and the coarse sand below her. She also remembered that guy. She wanted to see him again, but she couldn't open her eyes, couldn't sit up. She felt her heartbeat slowing and the all around heaviness of her body, as if the water had given her several extra pounds. And then she used all of her willpower and strength, as well as hope that the guy was real and not a figment of her imagination, to whisper one choking word.
