Despite Nudge's efforts, the maze changed anyway, and the world spun dangerously as his power was blocked off with no place to go. Their exit was closing over too, and Nudge instinctively started running for it, dragging Emvee behind him. He was tired, dizzy, and his nose was pouring blood again, but all he could think about was the person he was leaving behind. He would have to find a guard's mind to get the new map, so he could send it to the others, but he wouldn't have the energy for that now. They would need to find the way out themselves for the moment. As soon as they were clear, Nudge's energy deserted him, as did his legs, slumping to the ground like a cast away doll...
...Ash okay?...Nudge...out, Ash still safe? he asked weakly, not knowing if he even had enough strength to send the thought outside his head, let alone to Ash. It seemed he did, but that was the last of it, sending him into the darkness...
