Jäger grunted as Alkaline got distracted, effectively ignoring its question. This would be so much easier if it had a translator. Sitting back in her lap, it made itself comfortable and was about to try to grab her attention once more when Dorian approached the pair. One ear rose and the other fell as it looked the boy over suspiciously. Was he trying to start another fight like the one in the cafeteria? No, this would not do at all. But once the hand began rubbing its head, all angry thoughts dissolved and it simply purred at the attention.

Voices rose, a small fight started. Still, Jäger simply didn't care and made no move to stop either. It was content to sit still and receive attention, until the hand pulled away suddenly, only to be replaced soon after by Alkaline's steady attention. Well, at least she was concentrating only on the doll, now. Pawing at her hands, it began to chatter away in hope that she would get the hint, or at least be curious enough about what it was saying, to ask. "Vant pact. Need a pact. Scratch your back scratch mine. Deal's a deal, strike a match. Power 'n fortune. Pact, pact."

As far as the nearby guards could tell, however, there was no point to the doll's rambling. It was merely a bunch of words strung together with little to no coherency.
