Sam followed Jenās gaze towards her injury. It really does look painful. She winced and considered what to do. Normally it wouldnāt be an issue, but the smaller girl seemed nice. She seemed... almost as if she might actually care about other people. And it was really hard for Sam to watch anyone nice go through pain. "It's alright. I've been worse, trust me." She kept her gaze steady on the other girl, trying to keep up her defences, and hoping that the blonde wouldnāt get too emotional on her. "You don't want to know." It was true, Sam did not want to know, but emotions still crept through a bit. Sam still felt the dull, poignant edge of Jenās emotions. "Oh, right. I'm Jen. Nice to meet you."
Sam smiled at the temporary distraction of menial introductions. She took a deep breath and concentrated on the tips of her fingers, it was an old trick to block out any other emotions and feelings but her own. āāIām Samā She said with a slight grin, āItās nice to meet you, but it would have been a lot nicer in any situation but this one. She looked at Jenās arm again and couldnāt help but feel a twinge of jealousy. Not that Jen was hurt! No, that would be pretty silly. She was jealous that this girl had a spare shirt to wrap her arm in. Any spare shirt that Sam might have would just cause an infection, if she had a spare shirt. The sudden crash and then the eerie silence made Samās skin crawl. This couldnāt possibly be good.
Sam watched the scene that followed, the moment flashing by, almost impossibly fast. And then Jen crashed into her, stopping everything in its tracks. āFuckā She murmured as a sharp pain shot through her arm. Why the hell it this happening to me? And yet, through the annoyance, Sam just had to feel sorry for the girl. āJen...?ā She closed her eyes and tried to tell herself that this wasnāt happening. She was at the shop. She had fallen asleep on the job and this was a horrible, horrible dream.
Jen got up and Sam straightened up as well, really to catch her if she where to stumble. "Sorry about that, I was stupid. Happens all the time, unfortunately. Just, uh.." Sam shook her head and watched as the smaller girl floated back. By this time, Sam was seriously considering taking some of the pain away, but to be honest, she was a bit afraid. "I have to go help my friend over there and chances are, everyone else will start trickling in from then. I'm thinking it's kind of obvious that you don't like us and what we do, so.." Sam closed her eyes. Yea, this had to be a dream. In real life, nice girls didnāt kill innocent people. They just didnāt. "You probably shouldn't be here. Either way, it was nice meeting you."
Watching Jen float away, Samās hands began steaming. She was literally fuming with anger. Those two people were going to hurt a lot more innocents if she didnāt do something. Frankly, Sam didnāt give a fuck if Jen had had a moment of kindness. She had also killed children. Maybe not personally, but at least inadvertently. Unfortunately, Sam didnāt think she could do a thing. Her fire starting abilities where useless from far off and she didnāt really know how to do anything else. So she ran towards the broken edge of the bridge and focused on where Jen was, aiming all of her power into that area. Yea, it exhausted her, but in a few minutes, Sam was fired up, and from the look of it, it was getting quite a bit hot over there too. A small fire had started next to Jen and the boy she was with. And Sam knew from experience that her fires where a bit difficult, if not impossible, to put out when she was around.
