Cheri sat dully in her cage, scratching one metallic wall absent-mindedly with her sharp claws. She glanced toward the Arena, where the maze she'd been trying to memorize for the past day had turned mirrored. She studied one section in particular, where a black-haired guy was being supported by a girl who's features she couldn't make out. There were various others around them as well, but Cheri was uninterested.
The wolf-girl glared at the cage bars, willing them to open. She had watched the... creatures... that attacked the mutants in the maze... She would create Hell for them, but at what price for her? Growling angrily, she turning away and started scratching the walls of her cage again.
Out, echoed through her mind. I want out.
It didn't matter if they killed her, as long as they were dead or dying by the time she was.

She snarled, kicking violently at the cage bars - which shifted slightly out of place. Sapphire eyes shining, she kicked again, harder, and once more they moved. With new resolve, she inflicted as much damage as possible to the bars, pausing every few seconds to check if she could fit through the widening gap. After not five minutes of kicking and prying at the bars, she slipped through, leaping down to the ground and landing silently. Her ears twitched as she listened for anyone near her.
When she heard nothing, she slunk toward the last place she had seen the girl with the black-haired guy, not because she wanted company, but because if there was an exit, they would probably be on the right track toward it. The thought of freedom made her grin, and her fangs punctured her lip, drawing blood.
Great job, love, her internal voice growled sarcastically. Can't even go five seconds without hurting yourself. How lovely you'll do in the real world.
