Jennifer Williams
(San Francisco Bay Bridge)

When Maxi had first refused her help, Jen had almost rolled her eyes as she settled herself on the broken cement beside him. Pfft. At this rate, I'll be crashing either way. Her eyes seemed to be drooping already, but that moment of peace was abruptly broken when the temperature rose abnormally; followed by a sudden, unexplained fire that had formed uncomfortably close. She jumped to her feet and put a distance, but she knew there wasn't much she could do. Fire? Where the hell did that-- Oh, she didn't. And I even.. Goddamn. At Maxi's suggestion to put out the fire, she sighed and almost planted a palm into her face in near-exasperation. She was about to tell him about the fact that the flame came from a certain ungrateful Elementalist from across the bridge (and that she controlled lightning, which therefore meant she couldn't douse fires anyway), when some gust of wind caused her to finally notice the second, and far more impending, danger.

Oh, shit. Couldn't have been a worse time. The others better get here soon. A second glance at the rock-and-earth made dragon, however, made Jen chuckle. It's nice how they never look up. Earth, in the sky, in the midst of a thunderstorm? I should be happy this one's not so smart. "Matter of fact Jen. Maybe we will have to result in your idea...I mean, i'm not sure if you will be able to handle all this by yourself... Since you do get tired rather quickly... No offence." She gave a smile, all the more friendly as an idea blossomed in her head. For the moment, all thoughts of the fire flew away in her mind; which instead filled with simpler ways around the next problem. Her gaze followed the dragon and her clouds in the sky, her thoughts so occupied for a plan that she missed Maxi's next phrase completely. When she finished, he had already turned to face his arm.

"Don't worry. I think I've just found a better way around this, if you'll give me a minute." Jen's tone was cheerful, but her features stood to contradict as she painstakingly pulled the embedded shrapnel out of her arm. Because it's better for it to be out, than melted into a limb. Gritting her teeth and steadying herself on the wall of junk, she took a second, thicker spare shirt and wrapped it as tight as she could make it; which would hopefully temporarily (kind of) stop the river of blood that now ran from her wound. With that done, she approached Maxi's arm and, standing beside him, lifted her uninjured arm to the left of his; against the pile of metal junk. "Well, then. This will probably run through you too, since you're just as good of a conductor as I am. I warned you." She smiled at him then and glanced back to the sky, at her clouds and the dragon beneath them. Tough luck.

With only the warning of a slight twitch in her fingers, multiple bolts of lightning shot down from the sky; the majority attracted to (and therefore hitting) the idiotic mass of earth that was flying in her domain. One or two, however, charged straight into Jen herself; providing an excess of energy that she immediately converted to her use. The clouds, at this point, completely dissipated once the bolts had left, as her concentration went elsewhere. From the energy she now had, Jen carefully released an electric current through the wall, creating a powerful (and very small) magnetic field. With this, she removed the various metal parts that surrounded Maxi's arm; but she took the pains not to touch the arm itself. When she was done, she held the surrounding pieces of junk in their places by expanding the current; for only a time long enough for her companion to retrieve the limb. Then, as the field disappeared, the wall collapsed into itself.

Jen's vision flickered for a split second, before she sat down hard on the cement. "That's done and over with." Something bright danced at the corners of her eyes; reminding her of the fire. "That there is from that girl over on the other side of the bridge. There's nothing I can do about it." Well, besides a shot of railgun. But that's such a waste. And no matter how much she wants to hurt us, that mound of earth is way more dangerous. A tiny voice in the back of her head sighed in relief, at the unconscious decision not to kill another innocent. Well, a little discouragement from another fire wouldn't hurt, would it?

She looked to the sky, watching for any signs of the second, fresh elementalist. "Looks like we're a little cornered, aren't we? One moment." Jen formed the classic finger-gun with her left hand and aimed it at the other bridge's side; roughly in Sam's area. Mimicking a gun, she 'shot' a bolt of lightning at the other side's ground; a bolt that would only charge the cement and metal in Sam's vicinity to the point of a stun gun, rather than electrocution. Jen, herself, closed her eyes and took several deep breaths, staying in one place to regain energy. "If that works, we're only up for one for at least a while. Think you can hold that guy off until I can stand up again?"
