She wasn't sure what to think, what to feel. Thrown into a situation she didn't understand, Esme listened impatiently to the elder before them. Speaking of them, she had no idea who them happened to be. Some looked old, but not old as in age, old as in from a time before hers, while others appeared younger. Uncomfortable and out of place, she kept her eyes glued to her shoes as if they were more interesting than anything else around her. Taking in new situations had never been easy. Coming from a poor, secluded family, being picked out of her normal life and tossed into a different place was definitely not how she wanted to spend her next few days.

It was a relief when the old man disappeared - she did her best not to think too deeply on his sudden vanishing act. Following in suit with the others who were among the group, the girl with the strawberry-blonde locks darted off by herself to do as she was told. Stuck at the back of the group, Esme took the opportunity to memorize the passage-ways they were taking in case of emergency or need or escape. Escape. Yes, that seemed like a very real deal at this point.

In due time she somehow managed to make her way to the long corridor lined with rooms for the new arrivals. Esme, who had somehow made it a little ways off from the others, trotted quietly after a brunette who didn't seem at all bothered with the situation - or perhaps she was reading that blank expression in just the wrong fashion. Sea-green eyes followed him, unsure what to do. He chose a room and entered. If he did, why shouldn't she? Choosing number six (her favorite number), she quickly slid through the door and shut it behind her.

The room was painted a sharp red in a fashion that gave the walls an old, rustic sort of feel. Soft gold-white carpet smoothed across the floor, though abruptly disappeared at a set of double doors on the far side of the room - a balcony, she thought. Chewing her lip, the girl shuffled into the center of the room where a large, round bed sat, lined with red and gold fabrics and pillows. Atop these fabrics and pillows lay several weapons, four bladed instruments tied with a green ribbon. Eyeing the weapons, Esme curled her fingers around them and lifted them with surprising ease. It was a shock at what a rush the instruments gave her.

Chilled, she turned on her heel and headed right out of the room. She hurried back towards the lobby and, nearly there, turned the corner-- only to run straight into the brown-haired boy from before.
