Salem smiled as she moved over. He sat next to her and turned to look at her while she reminisced. He got a flashback of the two of them playing. He would wear a bucket on his head with eye holes cut out, as his knights helmet. Everything was so easy. They didn't care about anything but what they were doing at the time. Its not like life is too hectic now for them to still have fun, but they grew up, and when you grow up you sometimes lose the desire to screw around all day. After every 'mission' Serenade sent him on as a 'knight' he would return with a smile and a "What else can I do for you m'lady?"

He watched her with a smile as she took a drink. He missed her. He trained nearly every day without time off. He had a strict curfew at night, but he usually managed to sneak out. His master gave him one three-day break every other month to go see his family and stuff like that. The time always flew by so fast he missed catching Serenade most of the time.

She started philosophising about time. Salem listened quietly while staring at the clouds. When she brought up her music he smiled. He was sure she didn't know this but he always snuck out to see her play, He would sit on Masters roof and listen as she played. This time however, he would actually be allowed to attend. "I'll definitely be there Serenade" he promised witha grin.

He spotted the waving girl just as Serenade did. Salem didn't know her, but she seemed familiar. He waved anyway. No reason to be impolite right?

Salem responded quickly to her question. "but of course Serenade" he answered. "I have the day off, and figured I'd go see my oldest friend. I feel as if I've been neglecting you." he smiled. He said this with an air of sarcasm. It really wasn't his fault.

He didn't know why he trained so much. He was just shoved into it a few years back. His parents and master insisted. Salem was sure he had asked why once but he seemed to remember getting blown off and being told. "You don't have time for meaningless questions if you can't hit the bullseye." Master can be a bit short sometimes.
