Straightening out s a number of the reddish locks of hair formerly restrained by the hood, Aliah huffed out to blow a few loose strands from her face before responding to anything that Rala had to say. It was obvious that the older girl’s mind was elsewhere for the time being, but tracking her through process through the jagged and jaded edges of her mind was a difficult task even for the best the Sheikah had to offer. Whatever it was, it was clear that something was bothering Aliah. Even more clear was the fact that no one was going to beat it out of her today.

“I don’t know what we’re supposed to feel. Half of everything that Rauru tells feels like some half-hidden poetry spun around so many times that I don’t even know that he’s sure what the meaning behind it is. I just wish sometimes he would just point and say that is your goal,” she emphasized, pointing at some nondescript piece of the village in front of them. “Do that and you will succeed,” Aliah spoke as another sigh escaped her lips as she patted the neck of the horse once before starting down the staircase leading them into the main village.

“For now, all I can tell you is that whenever it does come, I’m going to be ready. Just hope that you can keep up,” Aliah remarked with equal parts tease and challenge.

At that moment, she was ready to walk on and continue with some other form of training, some other opportunity to get away from the things that were bothering the young woman and instead focus her energy on something productive. She was tempted to leave Rala in the dust and let the girl go about her own way.
”She is young, but much will fall on her shoulders. You cannot bear this weight alone, child. In time, you will come to rely on her and the others more than you can possibly imagine. Better not to burn those bridges before you even find the river you need to cross.”

Rauru’s words burned in her mind, causing the girl to pace for a moment before emitted a slight moan and turning to her fellow Shiekah.

“I have to make a trip to the Hyrule Market this afternoon to pick up some sort of package for one of the village elders. It would be better if there were two of us,” she said, biting her tongue.
