"Salem... I'm sorry"

Salem was in a dark void. He could see nothing. Nothing except a bright light in the distance. He squinted and began stepping towards it slowly.

"Salem... I'm sorry"

What was that, it sounded familiar, but it was too far away for him to tell who it was. He walked closer and the light began to take form. He squinted harder, the light was so bright. He shielded his eyes with his right hand while reaching out into the dark with his left.

"Salem... I'm sorry"

It was getting louder. It was a womans voice. He still could not place it. He continued approaching the light and it finally took a recognizable shape. It was a woman. A tall slender woman, holding an ocarina. Salem just couldn't make out her face.

"Salem... I'm sorry"

"Serenade?" Salem called to the light. The light dispersed and uncovered her face. The next second she started floating away. "Serenade?" Salem asked louder. She was leaving faster, and he began to chase her. "Serenade!" he yelled. She was going faster and faster, and he couldn't catch up. "SERENADE!!!!!" He screamed and fell to his knees as the light dissapeared and she was gone.

Salem sat up like a rocket. "Serenade." He didn't think about getting his boots, or anything else. The only thing on his mind was Serenade. He bolted from his room and out the door. He skidded to a halt. The village. It was burnt!. It was raining, which he guessed put out the fires, but all the abandoned houses were burnt to a crisp and smoldering. He knew something was wrong. He sprinted to Serenades house and opened the door. "Serenade?" he called, no answer. He plodded through the house calling her name over and over. Still no answer. He made it to her room and walked inside. She wasn't there. "Where the hell is she?" He said to no one.

He spotted her favorite ocarina on the bed after looking around for some time. He retrieved it from the bed. Something was telling him, he needed to keep it. He wasn't sure why, but he heeded his gut and pocketed it. He sighed and walked outside. gazing at the smoldering houses. "What happened here. Serenade where are you?" he said aloud. He flipped the wet white hair out of his face and stared at the sky.

"someone help. im being kidnapped"

It sounded like a mouses whisper, but Salem knew he heard something. He spun around and climbed on top of Serenades house. Once there, he scanned the village. "What is this?"
