Hayato stuck his tongue out at Beline, who rolled her eyes and muttered something that sounded suspiciously like "How mature of you, Brother." under her breath before turning once more to Jade. "See what I mean?"

Disregarding her, Hayato nodded at the girl. "Yes, I do. I actually worked as a cook for a little time..." He blinked at the offered knife before taking it, his mouth turning upwards into a smirk. "Well, I suppose this just goes to show I can trust you. No one except Bel would ever be dumb enough to hand a knife to complete strangers while unarmed herself. "

" That's actually not what he means. It was meant to be a compliment, but Brother being Brother, it sounds like he's insulting you when he's not really." Beline interrupted, because she really liked this girl. She was self-sufficient and yet kind enough to help them out, and she didn't want to offend her just because of her Brother's social skills ... or lack thereof.
