"Outside." Jane stood silently at the command, walking out into the bright light. "Just follow your orders, girl, and get moving." She shielded her eyes for a second before obeying, hearing the sound of others being kicked out with far more anger and threats than they had used on her. She paid it little heed- she already knew the soliders hated her less than they hated many of the others, whatever 'hate' meant.

Standing near the end of the line, eyes hidden behind her thick hair, she observed all, and ignored most of it. A boy near her was crying- she glanced at him, and the boy next to him, sizing them up before looking away. She watched the 'match' between Legion and the new girl closely, but only for lack of anything better to do. The new girl, however, Jane spared a second glance, out of something that others would mistakenly call curiosity. It was more like a drive to collect information, a habit drilled into her again and again. The soliders had had to force the girl to observe the world around her, to speak with others, for Jane had no drive of her own. If those habits hadn't been drilled into her, she would sit and do nothing. The urge to fight and grow stronger was learned as well.

Idiot, Jane thought, watching her stand up after a second smackdown. She heard someone yelling something about "-take us to the top!" and ignored it, mentally assigning another 'idiot' tag with the voice.

“Yo! Sorry I'm late. They had to stop and get more ice for my box...” Jane's head whipped around towards the voice, and she almost smiled. His posture was incredibly slouched, every move screaming 'I don't care.' It was something different than the surrounding people, and therefore more interesting, though not by much. Golden eyes watching him closely, she moved to do as instructed, approaching the man who called out her number. She focused her full attention on him for a split second, receiving the information her gave her both mentally and verbally, before turning back to the 'different' person, staring at him without any embarassment, another thing she couldn't feel.
