Cassandra set some of the icy treats back in the fridge, handing one to Kathrin and opening one for himself. He bit into it, rather than licking - it took to long to do it the way people said he should, and why should there only be one way to eat a Popsicle?

He watched in gentle amusement as Crystal, too, devoured her treat... mostly. Well, not even mostly. Mostly it was all over her face. But that didn't matter much to the girl, clearly. He opened his mouth to comment on it, suggest quietly that she clean up, when the bus made a sharp turn. Crystal toppled over into the lap of a demon. Cassandra, too, had been standing, but not so close to any of the seats. He gave a soft gasp, caught between shock and what almost seemed to be amusement, and toppled over in a spray of silver hair to lie in the middle of the aisle. He lay there for a moment, startled and staring at the bus's roof, and then he started to laugh.
