Her weeping subsided, Anja regains an upright sitting position in the corner of her cell. She did not mean to hurt Dr. Coulton, but her thoughts hurt everyone, because she is thoughtlessly hurt by everyone else... With a delicate, pale hand, she rubs her right eye, and waits for the doctor to return, most likely to send her for testing today.

Instead of resuming her crying, she tries to go back to that happy place she saw before, time and time again - not simply to shed fear of what may lie ahead, but to keep the beacons of hope lit for what is yet to be written.
