Harlan Nova & Rio Thorn
Harlan scrubbed at the nape of his neck, hoping to hell that nobody could see the ghostly sideshow that decided to tag along with Rio and him. By sideshow he meant the ghost of a 12 year old girl with pink-red hair, whom seemed to have chosen to be a mix of a bad-ass biker chick and a black swan ballerina. This same ghost who knew how to push the shit out of his buttons. His guess at why she refused to cross over is that it was too much fun to pull shit on him and her living siblings. He glanced over at Rio who was acting like Talia wasn't even there. The girl stuck out like a nature loving hippie at a death metal concert. He dropped his arm back to his side with a frustrated sigh.
"You're such a Nancy! No one can see me 'cept you and Rio," She said skipping happily along between the two. "Normies can't see me 'cuz they're not cool enough."
Rio shook his head as Harlan opened his mouth about to speak, but decided against it. It proved hard getting any information from people when they think you are crazy. Talking to a ghost that only Harlan and Rio could see at the moment wouldn't help that. Their destination was the high school, a place they along with the others had been checking out lately. From what they knew of Sentinel's they tended to awaken around the ages that had become Sentinel's in their previous lives.
From what Harlan had picked up, there were a few that were high school age. Rio and him had a few leads that they were going to check up on.
"Harlan, I think we should send her in instead." Rio finally spoke a few blocks from the school. "I don't think us coming in would ease matters. Remember when Dawn showed up? You pretty much freaked out."
"I did not freak out, I was merely confused." Harlan denied. Who wouldn't try to get away from a guy who claimed to be from another planet. When you were raised on earth that shit was considered fiction.
"Whatever helps you sleep at night dude, but I got it right from Dawn... you flipped," Rio said with a smirk, "But I really do think that we should send Talia in."
Harlan was quiet for a few moments, going over the suggestion. "You're right, Rio. It is much safer to have her do it, but-" Harlan said stopping mid stride turning and looking Talia dead in the eyes. "She feels that ANYONE can see her, she WILL get the heck out of doge ASAP"
"Ya, ya, Lala! I got it!" Talia said with her hip cocked to one side and her arms crossed. Harlan knew that she was going to do what she wanted no matter how much he accosted her. She quickly vanished through a nearby wall, heading off to the school. To spy on the kids that got to experience what she can't.
"I don't know why you still try that, she never listens." Rio asked raising an eyebrow as he looked at the clearly annoyed Harlan.
"Yeah, well I must have a head injury. I seem to forget that she doesn't respect me." Harlan said as he began to walk to a nearby Café to sit and wait. This was going to be a rather irritating day.
