Day/Time set: Day 1, LU (6am)
Location set: Near Academy Room 3
(Stella)
Jean was not happy about the situation. Stella could see that much, but it became even more obvious as he worded it in such a clear and direct way. It wasnāt meant for her to hear, particularly. Still, she was comfortable with silence, and followed Jean to his cabin, only speaking in a low voice from time to time. Chanson was sleeping, she saw, when they entered the cabin, so she made sure to speak in a low voice so as to not wake her up.
Her being offered a chair was certainly a nice gesture, but the fact Jean remained standing made it seem like an interrogation. Stella wanted to trust Jean, but wanted to be trusted as well. She remained calm as Jean asked his questions. There were obvious doubts about her person, and where her loyalty lied. Fair doubts, she had to admit.
āI do not know more than I have already told you. However, it did give me the clear impression that lord MichĆ”ele wants to, essentially, conquer this place, and make profit from it. He did mention that the Bellanese were aware of their ultimate goal, which is, always supposedly, to study the animals, plants and mineralsā¦ As you know, I donāt believe him. They may have fooled some people into believing they only want to study them, but we are aware thereās something elseā¦ right?ā
Jean expresser further concerns, though, particularly about his promotion. It was then, that his eyes met Stellaās, and she realised what it was that worried the man. It was clear that MichĆ”ele was planning some kind of colonisation. To a certain extent, at least, but it was true that with that amount of soldiers and equipment, they would be a very powerful force to deal with. āI agree with you. It is clear that heās willing to go quite far. I would bet my life on it.ā
Stella stood up, and looked into Jeanās eyes. āDo not apologise. I know you are a man who can be trusted, and you can ask freely, for I will help with everything thatās within my reach. My loyalty as a guild member lies in you. And if you were to eventually be blamed for any mistakes, please bear in mind that I will fight by your side. Howeverā¦ Iām afraid I do not have more information about the true goal of this mission.ā
She was genuinely concerned. It had not been that long since when she had tried to get information from MichƔele, but it had been impossible to learn more. He seemed to be prepared against saying too much. Of course, this could change now since they were in the ship already, and far away from home.
((Ymber))
He was not happy. Certainly, he was not. That petty nobleman thought he was worth more than he, Ymber Ocmare. However, no matter what, that man was still in charge, and Ymber knew better than to disobey him. So the young man sat down, after hearing MichĆ”ele clearing his throat, and listened carefully. Just as he was stating that his concerns were unnecessary, Ymber felt an intense urge, and was about to reply when the lordās raised hand stopped him.
Knowledge scoutsā¦ it even sounded nice, like that. Even thenā¦ to think he had been chosen for thisā¦ even Ymber could see he was not exactly the most discreet person in the land. He found a moment of inspiration, surprisingly, and remained quiet, observing exactly what was going on around him; the relationships between the lord and everyone else. There was a strong antagonism between the lord and that womanā¦ wild lookingā¦ she seemed really interesting.
As MichĆ”eleās speech went on, he looked into each of the membersā eyes. āI do not have anything to hideā Ymber mouthed in a low voice, annoyed that he was being treated as some sort of criminal, in that sense. It was also true that not getting too far into every memberās past could be better for the group. An assassin could change and turn into a better person; a thief could stop stealingā¦ but those who were born in noble families should always carry a special dignity!
Finally, speech over. Ymber stood up and faced MichĆ”ele. āI hope that you do not forget I am no peasant!ā He turned around quickly and left the room just like that. There was some work to do, and heād do it as fast as it was humanly possible. To show he was no regular person! He would have to wait for the cookā¦ who actually seemed like an interesting person. Ymber had always secretly liked the art of cooking. He was convinced it should be considered as proper art, just as a painting, or a sculptureā¦ finally the man came out of the room. āSir Daller Friedal. I am readyā.
