If you were gone," his throat catched feeling the sadness that would engulf his world if it were so, "No, you cannot be gone." He shook his head and stood up straight again to regain his poise. "Smile for me, Death. I'm smiling for you." He whispered, turning his head away so she couldn't see the water rising in his eyes. He hoped she didn't hear his cheesy line; turning towards where the sun was fall down lower into the hills. Getting a small idea he began to take on a happier tone of voice. "Imagine if it were day 24/7. It would be too tiring and bright and annoying without rest. Night helps the world relax and calm down. It allows for momentary relief from the stresses of daytime," he wrinkled his nose trying to find a better way of saying it. "Do you get me?" He tilted his head to the side and grinned stupidly to Death, his hair covering his left eye with the angle of his head.
