Cooper wrinkled his noise and then shook his head. "Must be my imagination," he mumbled and walked towards the hall. "English first, Riley," he said waiting for her to catch up with him. "And you know you are quite lucky to be stuck with me," he said with a slightly offended tone taking over his voice. "I'm the nice guy. If anyone else found out you guys were homeschooled, no doubt someone would mess around with you. But... You're capable of taking care of yourself right?" He gave a smile. He figured if she talked so independently then she must have some muscle or brain to back it up. He fiddled with a loose string from his backpack with his freee hand that didn't grip the strap of his bag. He was feeling animated today and he wasn't going to let Riley, with her slightly opressive and queenly yet sweet attitude, ruin any of it. If anything, she would make it better. He hoped.
