Julye unrolled her flags, then stripped them with a slight sigh. She had been hoping she could teach Myran more of the flagwork for the sets today. The percussion kids always seemed interested in the flag corp (Percussion being mostly boys and flags being all girls, at least currently), but Myran.... He didn't fool around the way the others did. She could toss a flag toward him, and could, nine out of ten times, expect him to catch it. The Director had seen it, and was thinking about using it. Of course, that would mean putting Myran on the feild, so it probably wouldn't happen. Bells were part of the pit, so for the most part they weren't on the feild..... That made her kind of sad. It would be fun to do a show where the guard danced around the lovely bottom tones of the pit. She liked them most; while most people only heard bits and peices under the rest of the band, listening only to the whole, she could pick out exactly where each instrument came in, and dropped out. She could sing every part of the bells, although she wouldn't ever tell Myran that. The other girls all thought they were dating, the ammount of time they spent with each other. She wouldn't be able to stand that much emotional attention drawn to her by them. She didn't even know if Myran liked her that way. They were friends, family almost. She quickly hid a red blush, and looked at where the drum majors stood, with the Director, waiting for announcements. This is going to be a long hour and a half.....
