Emmaline gasped as the man grasped her wrist tightly, turning her to face him again as she attempted to go off and serve other customers. She looked to him in surprise, unsure how to react to this situation she found herself trapped inside. As a young female in a drunker man's pub, it was not unusual for her to be grabbed or mishandled by the tipsy men. This, however, was different than anything she had faced before; this man was clearly sober and confident of himself. Although she felt no pain from the strength of his grasp clutching her wrist, it was obvious that he could over-power her in a moment's time. Her eyes flickered about the pub, surprised to find that a card game had begun and all other patrons of the tavern were oblivious to the man's care towards Emma.
"Emmaline..." Emma stiffened as her name was repeated, her ocean eyes drifting up to find Aaron's black pools of mystery. She discovered herself nodding slightly, her desire to please him stronger than anything else that she had felt before. Her body relaxed to his calming voice, as if all tension and possibility of alarm had simply disappeared from her mind and she was underneath his control, helpless to whatever he requested from her. "Thank you, for taking care of a poor soul. And this, is in case she takes this out of your pay."
Emmaline felt suffocated as he pulled her closer to his own body to deposit the coins into their rightful places around her body. She was suddenly aware how charming this stranger was, his features elegant and posed unlike any creature she had seen before. Something about him reminded Emma of a wolf; cunning, graceful, and, above all, dangerous.
She blushed, her tongue forgetting all sense of language as he bent to kiss her hand. It was a gesture of a class higher than her own. The action, although unexpected, was pleasant to the rosy ting her cheeks now flushed in response. She giggled softly, her eyes once again surprised that although in the noisy tavern, they were utterly alone in the corner. She smiled, her body relaxed as he took a step away and she reclaimed her hand as her own. Without the direct contact, the spell cast over her lessened, although her interest in the man increased. She was confused at how the stranger could know about Tabitha docking her pay, but the thought was quickly pushed from her mind. "It is my pleasure, sir," she responded with a witty smile, running her hand through the few strands of golden hair that managed to escape her bun. "But, I fear I am at a disadvantage. You know my name, but you have yet to mention yours. Come, come. Fair is fair," she said, giggling as she leaned against the chair and smiled to him. "Or are you hiding from someone, this is not a typical stop for someone of your class."
