Mumbling something nonsensical as he heard Sonny's voice, muffled through the pillow he had buried his head in, Gale's only other reaction was to twitch a shoulderblade. His brain was still on autopilot, and not about to let him completely wake up for a while yet. Relaxing slightly, he dozed off again.

The next time he lifted his head up he felt much more aware, even if not completely coherent. Yawning, he pushed himself up into a cross-legged position to stare groggily across the room. It took him rubbing the sleep crystals from his eyes for a few seconds before he actually registered what he was looking at. He offered a sleepy smile of greeting to Sonny, vaguely connecting something the boy had said before he fell back asleep to the scent floating about the room. It wasn't half bad. Finally processing what he had seen during his first period of semi-awakeness and just previously, he ducked his head slightly to try to prevent a faint blush from showing.
