Sonny was about to respond when he saw the guy enter their room, and then walk right back out before he had a chance to say something. "Nice to meet you, too, dude!" he yelled towards the door, then turned back to Gale. He though about how he should respond to the question, then sighed.
"Does a relationship count...? My longest time in one was for 7 months..." he said, then swallowed down a feeling of nostalgia and brief sadness. Emily had been his first and only girlfriend, a girl who he thought would be in his life forever. He recalled the times that they would go down to the library together and run through the bookshelves, making noises and knocking Dictionaries over, then sneaking off to make out somewhere where no one could find them.
He would never forget the day she left him. The way her chestnut-colored hair had been braided back past her shoulders, the blue sundress she wore, her big, hazel eyes unforgiving and quite frankly, bored. The silver locket which he had given her was still hugging her neck, slightly raised on her fragile collar bones. 4 simple words, 'I'm sorry, we're done," were enough to make his whole life spiral under control. The 4 words were his downfall. And thats when the rumors started.
"Yeah...it shouldn't count for shit. Anyways, my turn to ask you. What do you look for in a relationship."
