The exucution was in full-swing, a crowd was standing at the edge of the their toes, children on the shoulders of their parents in order to see the gruesome result about to happen as the executioner in his black garb prepared to lob the heads off the prisoners lined up in the constricting binds, then suddenly without warning did a single black fetched arrow clang against the axe, another one whistled by the head of the would-be executioner and embedded itself in a pole behind him.
The crowd dispersed, two black knights on two horses with braided manes wearing full black leather armor and masks and overarching hoods that hid their identities and carried lances strapped to the horse-bags. Three more on foot in full black robes and fancy steel armor, they carried long-swords and one carried a bow, missing an arrow.
Then the leader showed himself, one for theatrics and was clad in cured white leather with a etched leather mask and hood, a mace strapped to his back and his blue eyes shining though the slits in the mask, a brown clad warrior behind him with a shark's tooth necklace.
The white clad leader announced to the crowd as he stepped onto the platform, bowing to the king in a mock gesture. "You look well, good tyrant. We received word of your attempted execution here, now I truly must object to that and I use the word attempted because it IS a certainty." The crowd was shocked and appealed, The White Knight simply grinned under his mask.
It was clear the leader was expecting a reply.
