Kin glared at nothing in particular, hands shoved in the pockets of her shorts, as she walked to school. Why? Why couldn't her mother just let her stay in bed? Seven o'clock was way too early for anything. And really, school should start at like twelve or something because maybe then Kin would be fully awake. Maybe. Or, even better idea, school could just...go away forever. No? Okay.

She continued on her way to the school building grumbling about how she could be sleeping right about now and how her mother kicked her out before she could have a proper breakfast. The injustice!! She'd hardly been paying attention when she bumped into a blonde boy. Kin blinked.

"Oops, sorry," she said with a sheepish smile. She looked at the boy. He was kind of feminine looking. But so cute, like...like a puppy and Kin just wanted to squeal and pinch his cute little che---

No. Stop that train of thought right now.

Cute? No, she was Kin and Kin didn't think things were cute unless it was food...or something. She looked back at the boy.

But maybe he could be the exception. And then Kin realized she was staring like a creeper and coughed awkwardly into her hand.

"So, uh...are you a freshman? Haven't seen you around here before...," she said in an attempt to make conversation.
