The blank darkness of sleep, with no nightmares, and no images, only left with her thoughts and a black velvety emptiness was completely alien to Isabelle. There hadn't been a single night since the night she woke up screaming in the hospital at seven years old, that she had't dreamed. It felt so good, Isabelle's sleeping mind almost didn't know what to do with it. for she could truly and completely rest for once in her life.
Though, she was a very light sleeper, always had been. Even in her deepest sleep, she was always just on the edge of consciousness. So when something opened her door and padded softly across to the bed, Isabelle stirred slightly, though not enough to wake. Her sleeping mind registered a softness at her leg, but didn't wake up. Not until the figure started to speak. "I know how nightmares can be scary and hurt terribly. Just remember they are not real unless you chose them to be."
Her eyes remained closed, but she heard the voice. Apparently someone other than Rajah had heard her screams. Careful not to wake him, Izzy slowly rolled herself over so that she could see who had come into her room. It was Seboro's creature, Marred. She smiled sleepily and was just going to speak when a noise wailed in her ears. A loud scraping noise that seemed to come from the floor beneath her. She winced and glanced at Rajah, still fast asleep. Damn, how could he sleep so deeply? She sat up and looked at Marred. "What was that?" She whispered, suddenly slightly panicked. Was that noise supposed to happen or was somethign wrong with the ship? Her fear of boats crept back into her again, and she had to grip the sheets tightly to hide her fear from Marred. God, she couldn't wait until they got back on land and she could be more herself again. Being afraid was definatly not her thing, and she didn't like it.
