Alli ran up the stairs and on to the deck. Water was pouring in and the screaming was even louder up here than it had been down below. She looked around trying to figure out how to get to safety when she spotted the lifeboats. It looked like there weren't going to be enough of them for everyone to get off safely unless there were more on the other side, but she wasn't about to wait and find out. She hopped into the nearest lifeboat and hugged her suitcase to her chest, this is all I have left of my old life now she thought.
