The first part of Lux's story made Emery laugh with her. He looked back up into the clear blue sky and could totally imagine it happening. A small part of him wondered what would have happened to the lightning bugs, but that just made him laugh some more before she told about her mom being gone. Dead or left, he felt like he shouldn't ask about it right now, even though the thought of her mom having a talent was also interesting, so he thought to ask about her siblings.
"So you have a sister? I'm an 'only child', or whatever you call it." That made him bite his nip nervously. Just goes to show how much social action he got. "What's it like, having a sibling? Does she really enjoy your misery?" That troubled Emerson, and he frowned at the ground in thought. He could never imagine being happy if something happened to either of his parents.
