Gottberg walked by at this point, and Albert smiled at him, waited for him to pass, then continued.
"Gunter, I understand that you're nervous, that you're scared, and that you know things about this kind of man. I do too. I was in the war, albeit in a different area. I know what people like him are capable of. But going through his things is just giving him a reason, an excuse to hurt you. If you just stay away from him, he has no reason to harm you.
